These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of theidlescreen.com (the "Service"), operated by Matthew Needham ("we", "us"). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Idle Screen is an ambient dashboard that shows information such as time, weather, market data, general-interest figures, a rotating quote and other widgets, made to be left running on a desktop or laptop screen. It is free to use, and features may change, improve or be withdrawn over time.
You can use the Service without an account. If you create one to save your preferences, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. You must give accurate information and be at least 16 years old. Tell us promptly at support@theidlescreen.com if you think your account has been used without your permission.

The Service shows third-party information including market and financial data, weather and other figures. This is provided as is, for general interest only. It may be delayed or inaccurate, and it is not financial, investment, legal or professional advice. Please do not rely on it for decisions. Verify anything important independently and seek professional advice where appropriate. We are not responsible for third-party data.
At the foot of the screen we show the logos of Featured Partners, which may link to their own websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites or their content, and showing a logo is not an endorsement.
Brands may pay to appear as a Featured Partner. These placements are arranged under a separate agreement and invoiced directly, and no payments are taken on the website. We may decline or remove any placement at our discretion.
The Service, including its design, code, original music, text and branding, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from it without our permission. Featured Partners' logos and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
We aim to keep the Service available but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time, including for maintenance.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of data or loss of profit arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, or from relying on any information it shows. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You agree to cover us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to use the Service means you accept the changes.
